In October 2024, President Hakainde Hichilema attended the Chakwela Makumbi Ceremony in Chongwe, led by Senior Chieftainess Nkomeshya Mukamambo II. This annual Soli event celebrates the harvest and honours traditional leadership. It reflects the enduring role of customary institutions in Zambia. Ezekiel Kaputa, Co-Director of Quantum Opus Energy Renewable Ltd, was also in attendance, among invited stakeholders.
